Germany’s Marcel Luensmann has defended his European Singles title at the 2023 European Racquetball Championships in Hamburg, Germany. He defeated Johnny O’Keeney from Ireland in a close and exciting match 15-2, 8-15, 12-15, 15-6, 11-3 to claim his second singles title after winning in 2019. On the ladies side, Aisling Hickey won the singles competition in an all Irish final against Antonia Neary with 15-8, 15-11, 15-10, ten years after her first European Singles title (in Brembate, Italy).
In doubles, Luensmann teamed up with legendary Joachim Loof to defend their 2019 success: They defeated Johnny O Keeney and Joe Devenney (Ireland) in the final 15-13,11-15,13-15,15-11,11-7. Another all Irish final was seen in the Ladies Doubles competition, where Aisling Hickey and Antonia Neary defeated the defending champions Majella Haverty and Katie Kenny 15-7, 15-8, 9-15, 15-13.
