The doubles final match of the European Championships 1999 in Bad Tölz between Joachim Loof and Trevor Meyer (Germany) against their "local rivals" Bernd Dröge and Ralf Klinke (Germany). Only a few minutes are left from this match.
European Racquetball Championships 1999 in Bad Tölz, Germany – Mens Doubles Final
The awards ceremony for the 1999 European Championships was quite unusual. Although Fabian Balmori, competing for Spain, won the final against Joachim Loof, he was unable to become European Champion. Balmori had only recently transferred from Venezuela to Spain and, due to the IRF and ERF's eligibility restrictions, could only participate with a special permit, but could not be officially declared the winner. This led to the unique gesture by Joachim Loof, the official European Champion, who simply gave Balmori a piggyback ride to the awards ceremony... this goes indeed down into ERF history.

The match for 3rd place in the Mens Singles of the European Championships 1999 in Bad Tölz, Germany between Martin Klippel (GER) and Pat Hanley (IRE), with Klippel being the winner of the last 3rd place match at a European Racquetball Championships. After that both semi finalists are being considered 3rd.

Watch pieces of the Mens Singles Final of the European Racquetball Championships 1999 in Bad Tölz, Germany between Joachim Loof (GER) and Fabian Balmori, representing Spain. Balmori played for Venezuela before and due to some restrictions was only able to play the EURO 1999 with a special permission of the International Racquetball Federation (IRF) and the European Racquetball Federation (ERF). Balmori also won the final but Loof was declaired European Champion because of Balmori's status.

The European Racquetball Championships 1999 were held in Bad Tölz, Germany on July 20th-25th. While the old video tape of the ceremony has a poor quality, the few minutes still give a great impression of the wonderful venue in the former Flint Kaserne and the 3 courts that were demolished due to local political issues in 2016.
